back {er, forward} to the future

It's my mom's birthday today.  {HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!}  Not sure how often she actually reads this thing, but I thought I'd leave a shout out anyway.  I've filled in for her in a couple areas today because it is her birthday.  Just a few little things.  Take my brother to school, pick him up from school, take him to band, and make my mom's birthday cake.  Simple tasks, but ones that have left me thinking.  What kind of mom am I going to be someday.   This thought occasionally slips into my mind and then slips out quickly, it doesn't usually stay very long.  I'm not the most on top of things person out there.  I'm forgetful and clumsy. My room is always cluttered and my mom often makes the comment, "I hate to think of what your house will look like someday".  I always tell her that my house will look fine and that I wont let it get to the way my room is, but sometimes this thought really does bother me.  What if I do end up with a house full of clutter and what if it bothers my husband.  What if nothing is ever done on time because I'm just as forgetful as I am now.  Does the mom skills automatically kick in when you become a mother?  Ha, probably not, but I can dream right.  I think the only solution is that I need to start working on these things now.  I need to learn how to not be so forgetful and how not to be such a clutter person.  I have quite a few questions and things I wonder about my future.  I've been into the group He Is We lately and they sing a song called Happily Ever After.  I know the lyrics are talking about a boy and a girl and if they end up happily ever after, but these lyrics kind of describe what is in my brain:

Oh, happily ever after, wouldn't you know, wouldn't you know.
Oh, skip to the ending, who'd like to know, I'd like to know.
Author of the moment, can you tell me, do I end up, do I end up happy?
We all want to know, how it ends.

We all want to know how it ends.  I want to know how things turn out in my future.  Do I end up happy?

By the way.

i love He Is We too!
although their songs seem to stalk me,
they follow me through grocery stores, on people's blog playlists, in people's status thingys, everywhere.
it's totally normal.
