christmas time & no school...

I can't believe that it is almost Christmas already. It seems like we just had Christmas last year, but here we are again. This Christmas seems differnet for me . Maybe it is because I am older and no longer get as anxious and excited as I once did or maybe it is just because I don't live at home anymore. I don't know what it is, but it feels different. I used to go with my grandma every year to the mall and me and my sister and cousins (Heather & Sara) would pick a name off of the giving tree. We would then spend the rest of the night picking out gifts for the little boy or girl that we had chosen. It was a really fun tradition and of course left us with the feeling of giving. We would then go out to eat. I always loved and looked forward to these trips every year. This year we did not get to do this. Instead my little brothers got the chance to do it with my grandma. With me being away to college and my two cousins in college (one who just had a baby) it was just not gonna work out this year. Emily is the only one that is not in college, but she was also crazy busy with her winter guard stuff. I am not going to lie I was slightly jealous of my brothers for being able to do it instead, but at the same time I'm glad they got that chance. I think this is part of the reason this Christmas has felt a bit different. That and the fact that I've only been home for a week and Christmas is already here.

I just hope that you all have a Merry Christmas and that you get the chance to do something nice for somebody else this season :).

I remember when I started "not feeling like a kid anymore" at Christmas. Someday when you have your own children it will be just as exciting as when you were a child! That sounds like a cool tradition to pick out a gift for a child in need. Those are the kind of memories to treasure! Thanks for your comments on my blog! Merry Christmas! Miss you guys!
